The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced recruitment for 102 Group-A and Group-B Gazetted posts under the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs, and Trademarks (CGPDTM) for 2025–2026. This recruitment, advertised under Advertisement No. 14/2025, offers opportunities for legal and research professionals within the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).

2. Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit (as of January 1, 2026)

  • Examiner (Trade Marks & GI): 21 to 30 years for UR/EWS.
  • Deputy Director: Up to 43 years (OBC) and 45 years (SC).
  • Relaxations: Standard government rules apply.

Educational & Experience Requirements

  • Examiner of Trade Marks & GI: A Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university and two years of relevant experience are required.
  • Deputy Director (Examination Reforms): Requires a Ph.D. in a relevant field and five years of post-qualification experience in teaching, research, or examination reforms.

3. Salary & Benefits

Selected candidates will receive competitive pay according to the 7th CPC:

  • Examiner Post: Pay Level 07 (Basic Pay: ₹44,900).
  • Deputy Director Post: Pay Level 11 (Basic Pay: ₹67,700).

4. Selection Process & Syllabus

The selection process includes a Preliminary Exam, Mains Exam, and Interview. The Preliminary Exam is objective-type with negative marking. The Mains Exam has both objective and descriptive papers. The Interview is worth 100 marks with minimum qualifying scores based on category.

5. Exam Fees

As per the official advertiseent for the CGPDTM Examiner recruitment, the application fees are as follows:

  • General / OBC / EWS (Male Candidates): ₹25 (Rupees Twenty-five only).
  • Female / SC / ST / PwBD (All Categories): Exempted (No fee required)

6. How to Apply
