The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has officially announced a major recruitment drive for 2026 under advertisement CEN 09/2025. This campaign aims to fill approximately 22,000 vacancies for various Level-1 positions across Indian Railways.

Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) from a recognized board. For certain technical posts, an ITI certificate (NCVT/SCVT approved) or a National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) is mandatory.
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India, Nepal, Bhutan, or a specified refugee/migrant fulfilling government criteria.
Age Limits and Relaxations (as of January 1, 2026)
- General/EWS: 18 to 33 years.
- Relaxations:
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years.
- SC/ST: 5 years.
- PwBD: 10 to 15 years depending on category.
- Ex-Servicemen: Service period + 3 years.
Salary and Benefits
- Basic Pay: Starting at ₹18,000 per month.
- In-hand Salary: Approximately ₹22,500 to ₹25,380 after allowances.
- Benefits: Includes Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, Medical facilities, and Night Duty Allowance.
Selection Process
Candidates must clear four stages:
- Computer-Based Test (CBT): Covers General Science, Mathematics, Reasoning, and General Awareness.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Must meet specific weight-carrying and running standards (e.g., males carrying 35kg for 100m).
- Document Verification (DV): Checking of original certificates.
- Medical Examination: Ensuring fitness for railway duties.
